📄️ Harvard Houses
The house system is one of the most unique and beloved aspects of campus culture at Harvard. Every spring, students dress up with house spirit on Housing Day, on which first-year students find out from the housing lottery which house they will live in for the rest of their time at Harvard.
📄️ HUDS
HUDS (Harvard University Dining Services) provides data on their website about daily meals and their nutritional value. Additionally, HODP members have analyzed dining trends on campus using swipe data from the dining halls and the HUDS text feedback system!
📄️ HUPD
Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) releases a public daily crime log that records data on incidents that occur on campus. The log includes information on the nature of the crime, date and time, location, and disposition. Incidents are published on the report within two days of their occurrence, and any subsequent changes are updated on the log. The two official logs are physical copies located at the HUPD headquarters (1033 Massachusetts Ave) and the HUPD Longwood office (90 Smith St, Roxbury). The online copy is not official, but HUPD attempts to keep it as updated as possible. Find a more detailed breakdown of costs here.
📄️ Harvard Fitness
Curious about how many students consider the MAC as their favorite gym? What about the most popular time for working out? HODP has compiled a dataset from Harvard Fitness containing information answering the above questions and many more (all in the article linked below!).
📄️ Transportation at Harvard
Harvard Transportation & Parking provides transportation, shuttle, and parking information through the CommuterChoice Program. Under the “Annual Report” section on their website, you can find a yearly report on remote working, electric car charging, parking permits, and T passes in the Cambridge and Allston/Brighton areas.
